Features of Cuisinart CJE-1000 Die-Cast Juice Extractor
Assembly of the Cuisinart CJE-1000 Die-Cast Juice Extractor is quite straightforward. One has to first assemble the juice pitcher by placing it on a flat surface and inserting the foam separator and putting the cover in place.
Then they have to assemble the juice extractor by placing the base on a flat, clean surface and first inserting the filter bowl, and positioning the spout on the right side on top of the motor housing. Then they have to place the foam management filter disk in the filter bowl, and then place the mesh filter basket firmly in the filter bowl.
Then they should place the juice extractor cover and slide the food pusher in the indent inside the top of the feed tube. Then they should place the assembled juice pitcher under the spout with the handle facing forward.
Users have to make sure the handle lock and spout are in the “open” position. They should not start operating the juicer while the spout is in the closed position. Also, after juicing, before removing the juice pitcher from under the spout, users should turn the spout in a closed position to prevent the juice from dripping on the counter.
All assembly instructions are given in detail with illustrations in the user manual.
The construction of the Cuisinart CJE-1000 Die-Cast Juice Extractor is pretty sturdy. The motor base is made of die-cast and brushed stainless steel and is built to last. Its micro-mesh filter basket is made of stainless steel.
All other parts that come in contact with food and/or liquid are made of BPA-free materials. The colors are silver and black.
The Cuisinart CJE-1000 is equipped with a powerful 1000-watt motor.
The Cuisinart CJE-1000 measures 14.92” in length, 9.37” in width, and 16.46” in height. In other words, it’s a large-sized machine and needs significant space on the countertop.
The Cuisinart CJE-1000 comes with rubber feet under the motor base due to which the machine doesn’t move or vibrate excessively while juicing.
The juice pitcher of the Cuisinart CJE-1000 is 1000 mL and thus is quite voluminous. This allows users to make a large batch of juice at a time for the entire family or for the next couple of days, without having to stop in between to empty the pulp.
There is no chance of confusion about where to place the pitcher as the juicer’s side comes with an indent that perfectly molds to its shape. The lid of the pitcher has an opening at its top that lets the juice drain directly in the pitcher from the juicer’s nozzle. It also features a froth separator that prevents any froth from entering the juice. If the user wants froth in their juice, they can just remove the separator.
The Cuisinart CJE-1000 comes with an extra-large 3-inch diameter feed chute which allows users to throw in most fruits and veggies without having cut, peel or seed. They just have to wash the produce. Thus their valuable time is saved. This is especially great when users want to juice during the busy morning hours. Only extra-large fruits and veggies have to be cut.
The Cuisinart CJE-1000 comes with a large 2-liter pulp container.
Control Dial and Speeds
The control dial of the Cuisinart CJE-1000 is pretty easy to use. It has the On/Off button at its center around which there is a blue LED light ring which starts blinking when the user sets the dial to the desired speed.
Once the user presses the ‘On’ button in the center, it will stop blinking. It comes with 5 speeds which users can choose by turning the dial. The lower speeds are for juicing softer produce, whereas the higher ones are for harder produce.
One of the special features of the Cuisinart CJE-1000 is the foam management system. Juicing enthusiasts are of two types – those who love foam in their juice and others who don’t love foam. This juice extractor offers what both these types of people love.
If the user prefers less foam in their juice, they can use a foam management filter disk and adjust the spout to a smaller opening. But if the user prefers more foam, they just should not use the disk and adjust the spout to a larger opening.
However, the Cuisinart CJE-1000 produces very little froth.
The Cuisinart CJE-1000 extracts high-quality juice from most of the fruits and veggies. It extracts juice from these ingredients with maximum nutrition possible.
Although its quality cannot match that of the juice extracted by a masticating juicer, it’s much superior to that of other centrifugal juicers. Despite being a centrifugal juicer that runs at a high speed, it produces very little foam, as compared to other centrifugal juicers. Although it’s best to consume the juice immediately, if one wants to store it for later use, they can do so for up to 24 hours in the refrigerator in a tightly sealed glass container.
Along with juicing hard produce like beet, pineapple, ginger, cauliflower, cucumber, pepper, garlic, pear, and carrots, soft produce like papaya, peach, strawberry, melon, kiwifruit, grapes, cranberries, tomato and pomegranate, and citrus fruits including orange, mandarin, lemon, tangerine, lime, and grapefruit, it can also juice nuts to make nut milks.
The noise level of the Cuisinart CJE-1000 is 85 dB which is average i.e. not extremely loud.
Cleanup of the Cuisinart CJE-1000 is pretty easy. To disassemble the machine, users first have to unplug it, remove the food pusher, press the handle tab release to unlock the cover and then lift and remove the cover, then remove the filter basket carefully (without touching the blades at the bottom as they are very sharp), remove foam management filter disk, and finally remove the filter bowl.
All parts except the motor base are dishwasher-safe (top rack). But users can even clean them manually by first rinsing with cold water and then washing with hot, soapy water. Then they should towel-dry all the parts.
They can take the help of the nylon brush included to thoroughly clean the filter basket. The motor base should be wiped with a wet cloth, sponge, or paper towel. A liquid dishwashing cleaner can be used, but products containing ammonia or scouring powders should be avoided as they can dull, mar, or scratch the finish.
The Cuisinart CJE-1000 is backed by a 3-year limited warranty. The warranty is available only to home users and not to commercial users. Home users should visit www.cuisinart.com to complete their product registration to avail the warranty. But they should also maintain all the purchase documents to obtain the warranty benefits.
